In collaboration with our many partners in the non-profit, public and private housing sectors, the ASU Stardust Center develops designs for affordable residential developments throughout the region. The Center generates designs for infill housing, transit-oriented developments, mixed-income projects, and sustainable, affordable communities for a variety of clients including non-profit community development corporations, city governments, tribal governments, housing authorities, and private developers. The Center typically partners with local architectural firms to carry these projects from concept to construction. projects are chosen that have the greatest potential to become exemplars in high quality, affordable and sustainable housing. The projects are designed whenever possible to meet or exceed either the US Green Building Council's LEED standards and/or the Enterprise Foundation's Green Communities Criteria. The projects are intended to be counterpoints to sprawl as models of more compact, livable, affordable communities designed for the desert climate of the region.
