This renovated apartment building in the downtown historic Roosevelt neighborhood of Phoenix provides 28 one-bedroom units for singles and couples.
The project is designed using several green strategies including: the reutilization of an existing building; shading devices including awnings, overhangs, and plantings; new Energy Star rated windows; and externally insulated exterior walls. Units are designed to maximize the use of compact space and the site is redeveloped to minimize the impact of parking on the community and to provide shade trees to the west of the building.
The project received funding from the State of Arizona’s 2007 Low-Income Housing Tax Credit.
